Where: Now South Eugene HS
Cost: $0
No online forms, we will have them at practice.
Payment not needed at first practice. No pressure to try for the first time.
Facility News: UPDATE: 5/1/22
Recap: Our lease is up and the facility was not renewed. We searched during the indoor season for a new building to use. We were unsuccessful. We are now trying to find a home outdoors and for indoors next season.
Please keep your eyes and ears open for any possibilities. Thanks for your support.

Mondays practice 4-5:30 or 5:30-7 and Thursdays All-comers meets starting at 4:30

Private
lessons
Raising the Bar PV has 4 coaches that are available for private lessons upon request and availability.
$50 for 1 hr.
$75 for 2hrs.

Mark Vanderville

Gabriel LaMay
Mark Vanderville has 34 yrs. of experience as a vaulter and coach. He competed for 2 yrs. at Highline Community College with a best of 16'3". He competed for the University of Oregon with a best of 17'6" that ranked him 7th on their all time list and was runner up in the Pac- 10 Championships in 1990.
Dan Umenhofer has been coaching high school vaulters for 33 yrs. He has been a vaulting partner with, and also coached by Dan West for most of those years. He jumped a personal best of 16'1" at the age of 34.
Gabriel LaMay competed for LCC & Oregon as a Decathlete. He then had a coaching position at Kent State University. He has returned to the Eugene area where he is a teacher at Churchill HS.

Dan West has been vaulting and has cleared a bar for 50 straight years. He vaulted at Montana State with a best of 14' 8". He cleared his all time best of 15'5" at the age of 32 while coaching at MSU. He was the 2005 indoor champion in his age group.
Lindsay Wagner has been vaulting since 2001. She graduated from South Eugene high school in 2008 with two state titles and a school Record of 12' 7.5".
Bob Heitstuman A former Oregon HS State Champion, pole vaulter for the University of Oregon (PR 16’ 7”) stepped away from the sport for about 10 years and came back to vaulting and coaching with us at Raising the Bar in 2008. Bob currently coaches at Eastern Oregon University and RTB East.
